Freeware Sites.. OFF TOPIC

We have talked about http://shellcity.net before.. However, in the latest version of the LangaList, there was talk about http://pricelessware.org . This is a site rated by the readers at the newsgroup alt.comp.freeware..

Good stuff!

Re: Freeware Sites.. OFF TOPIC

That cramsession site is steeped in Kixtart history and lore. It was around even before korg was started (afaik) and used to be run by a cracker kix dude named Steve Wilson - Steve also ran one of the first personal web sites dedicated to Kixtart scripting ... he hosted numerous fine examples of login and admin scripts.

I used to monitor his site frequently in the early days but unfortunately it fell into dis-repair - it was not being updated at all. But I think I can safely state that the brainbuzz (now cramsession) board truely was the center of the kixtart universe in those early days.

Steves site went offline about a year or two ago - guess he just moved on to other things. As far as cramsession is concerned - not nearly as busy as it used to be in its heyday ... and i have to wonder about its place in the universe now that the site is MS Certification oriented (i think).

Re: Freeware Sites.. OFF TOPIC

im not preaching my friend [Wink] just saying that cramsession aint as busy as it used to be and that having a kixtart support board over there kinda seems odd now. unless im not understanding the purpose of this cramsession board - what is the purpose of that board anyways ?

Not to get back on the subject, but www.priceslessware.org and www.sourceforge.net are the first two places I look nowadays for (almost) any utility/tool/needless program I have a want for [Wink] .

Sourceforge is especially nice if you feel like being a beta tester.

Well, I visit a lot of sites, but this site has been my favorite for years. I always look here first. I even took out a membership which is something I rarely do.
