BBChecker II 1.3 released

I don't remember all the changes but the the look has been improved a little.
also the slider should work perfectly now (no problems with the length) and you are able to do your own slider with just modifying the slider.udf

what comes to the main change, it can be seen also on the form:
you can select from the history which forum you want review.

get it from:
http://www.gwspikval.com/jooel/scripts/bbChecker/BBChecker.exe

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

chris,
the installer does not delete itself. if it does, there is something wrong.
the installer is same script as the uninstaller.

kent,
the installer can do the upgrade by itself.
meaning, if older version found, it will keep the settings but upgrade the files.

chris, have you wkix elsewhere in the system?
and have you it or checker running while you are installing?
what OS?

I experienced before same type of error but not with latest builds.

anyway, the persons who have working code, enjoy.
the ones that do experience problems may try to solve them or just simple load from the archive the 1.1.1 version.

The only other version of Wkix32.exe on my system is in an archive folder that is not in my 'path.' Found it, Jooel. You're deleting bbchecker.* from the desktop. It so happens that that is where I am running the install from. [Wink]

Maybe try this...

code:

right!

it was actually just to remove the link made with II 1.0.x

when I changed the shortcut place, I thought I might remove also the old links.
but as the link actually has not changed, there is no need to even remove it.

so, might as well remove the line.

I believe there is a memory leak in Wkix32.exe version 4.11.00 or Kixforms.dll version 2.0.5.33. I have had bbChecker running all weekend and 94% of my 512MB was consumed. When I shutdown bbchecker 65% of my memory was returned.

hoby, the current checker mistakenly says it uses 4.11 but actually it runs 4.12 beta1

I just assumed that the ones using my checker mostlikely know what is going on and I may use them as beta testers at the same time.

what comes to the memory leak...

shawn said that his timer has an issue but what I've seen and heard, it seems to really be a leak in wkix 4.12

Its probably forms that is leaking ... curious that the script coming out of Golf4 is also leaking ... don't think the script that I saw was recursive or anything either ... someone is going to have to bite the bullet and reduce the golf script down to the minimum code that causes a leak. The only thing these scripts have in common really is that they both use EXECUTE() quite a bit ...

It's kind of strange though both Richard & Madruga seem to be executing very large loops while doing validation of Golf24 scripts that contain "executes".

Right now at home, I am running a script that uses only integer math to solve golf24 & it uses not 1 but 5 call to the execute function. (I do this for elimination of brackets) I am looping through all possible solutions so I will see if it bombs.

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

how you know it's slider?

it could be any of the linking codes...

hoby's post does not show any special error why it did fail.
only thing understandable would be network outage/failure on short period...

what comes to kents post the topic having quotes:
GUICopy() - Use the Animated 'Copying Files' Progress Dialog (Page 2)

might have an influence...

still, my checker has been running for a while and it has not failed... on neither of the posts.

also, after 1 hour of processor time and 18 hour runtime the memory consumption is back again in 9M!
don't understand as this is normal...
when it flushes, or is this w2k feature?

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

secret...
you could anyway check on the kixmine...

no, it's a simple as KiXeditor/debugger.
if you have used visual c++ you know how sweet it is to see the errors when compiling the program. in kix I need to go all the way to executing before I get error and then start searching where it happened.

anyway, I had a dream before that I could do kix-compiler but found too much difficulties.
(as one is that variables are dynamic, second is to what language translate and then, where the ppl get libraries for that language... FREE.)
so, as I could not get far enough with that, I decided to start low. [Wink]

perhaps not able to build anything on next weekend but will collect something together before november.

anyway, this checker might need a little more fine tuning and commenting to get it easy for ppl to fix future problems and make the release by themselfes.

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

latest build: 1.3.2

should have fixed all those installation related problems, like not being able to register the kixforms.dll...

have some minor fixes coming in this release.
like, if you start checker and immediately go to misc and exit, the script errors out.

it might be also that those fixes make their ways just in time to 1.4.0

tittidyy...

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

Minor update: 1.3.5
meaning like 10 bug fixes and minor enchangements.
changed files: inst.kix, uninst.kix, bbcheckerII.kix and parse.udf

start up little slower in this one as it initializes more.

anyway, won't make it to the package as still lacks the update I wanted:
parser splitted.

anyway, if someone wants to try out (assume having 1.3.x installed) that someone can download needed two files:
bbcheckerII.kix
parse.udf

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

well... at first it was not a problem but a issue of lazyness...

then, when I've added more stuff to it, it might get too difficult to output correct style of array.
specially if ppl are to update it themselfes.
you know, array of arrays.

at the moment, in comes only command for first run.

then, to split it (leave only the http-related stuff in the parser) I would need to output:
-array for current posts for every forum
-array for addresses to them
-array of logged on members
-array for their membernumber
-two strings (currently, want to enchange it) specifying your name and member-status

so, easiest it might be to make it a case:
-case first run, run normal basic.
-case new post not first run, run additional

well, only two runs at the moment...
anyway, I would like to simplify the style parser runs and handle the calc in update.
also, take of unneeded updates from buddylist.

it's not hard, but it takes time to parse those vars out from there to update and create "standard" interface between the functions (no global vars in parser)...

{edit}
I have next update in my mind already but can't actually do it... well, it would go really messy without this change, so...

I really need to get this actually done... weekend maybe?

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

found also the reason of going mad when slider enabled:
undimmed var - $

used only in $=execute(doevents)

eh... [Roll Eyes]

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

I see no option explicit in the scripts so this shouldn't be the problem... or should it.

Anyway I made the changes and am testing the slider with this post...

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

heh, the newist version understands if you post multiple replies!
looking good!

the reason why the slider can't have $ undimmed is that in the calling script it is used pretty heavily.
and if set by execute, it will put the script into endless loop on new post [Razz]

Hyperlink doesn't function.

The address doesn't seem to be passed correctly to the slider function and the URL...

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

ok, current (uploaded) works for me...
somehow, the slider doesn't anymore, but the form hyperlink is ok again.

{edit}
tested and now it works.
weirdly from time to time I still get the slider multiple times or not at all...

or even my lagging network but haven't got any errors anymore.

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

OK.. D/l'ed the new version. Good to see that the slider is working well.

Suggestion:
Would it be possible to "tray" BBChecker and still have it pop-up new posts? I know you could use something like - Watch Cat to do this. However, it would be cool to have this built-in.

Thanks!

Kent

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

kent, it's good to here that slider is working there, but here it's steeling the focus and does not release it before I click on the form and back on the application [Mad]

anyway, don't quite follow on that tray... you mean systemtray?

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

Jooel,

Yes, the system tray.

I think I used the wrong comparison. WatchCat hides the application all together. More like an option of AutoIT when running.

I think this may need to be suggested to Shawn for the next version of KIXFORMS..

Thanks,

Kent

Consider it on the task list. Running Kixforms from the system tray ... not a small change but we will get it going somehow.

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

Im still getting error if I enable slider.
not consistent but from time to time.

it also opens console and outputs "20"

so, not sure... probably just timing issue...
will have to see for more.

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

Jooel,

This is funky...

When I click the button for "Today's Active Topics," we see - http://%1/

It does not matter if http://kixtart.org is up or not..

Thanks,

Kent

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

we?

do you have the "latest cutting edge" version of it?

if I recall correctly, the today's active topics has:
code:
$button.onclick=$runie+" "+$org+"ubb=get_daily"

and $org is initialized at the start of the script. by default it is:
http://www.kixtart.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?

so, even if there is something wrong, there definitely is some text too.
it is spooky.

hey, one thing could be that the runie key returns wrong.
could you check on that.
and what version of windows etc (etc=IE)...

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

ok, checked the lines.
code:
$org="http://www.kixtart.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?"

$runie = "run '"+ReadValue("HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\open\command","")+" "

$hba.onclick = "$$m.show(2) $runie "+Chr(34)+$org+"ubb=get_daily"+Chr(34)+"'"

in order of appearance.
so, there is no way it can be blank.
well, what comes to script. there is always a change of an bug and that your wintosh or IE does not have correct value in:
"HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\open\command"

{edit}
at my home network I can see those error messages more often as due to strickt firewall rules, every page is slower to get.
meaning, I can succesfully try to parse errors out.

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

as an "update" on the error topic.

the same script that worked just fine before, crashes now every time I try to run it!
[Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad]

you know, I do NOT like this.
there is at least two reasons I can find for this:
-kixtart timing: kixtart has (after "optimization" of code) had some timing issues
this may cause that before some call is ready, another one is executed. meaning with checker is that before page is downloaded (even when there is wait in it), kixtart tries to execute the next line, which crashes as it needs the result of the line before.
-microsoft.xmlhttp bug
xmlhttp has wait. if the wait does not function correctly, it will return the handle before the page is at our hand and thus crashing kixtart.

Jooel, could you release 1.4 so that we can retire this thread ... getting a little long in the tooth don't you think ? [Wink] [Wink] [Wink]

ah, noticed the BBChecker "flashes" when you start it up now, kinda like the form is being "built" after its already been shown ... never did that before ... did you change anything to do with SHOW ? Is it just my machine that does this ?

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

nope.
it's been there... from 1.3.3 I quess.
didn't find any reason thought.

but when I think of it, all the hidden peaces are created after the base is shown...

what comes to releasing 1.4
dunno if I even can do that before forms has that insert thingie.
but, then it would be 1.5 already...

then, I've been known of these long threads and I am really trying correct my habit.
it just takes time [Wink]

Re: BBChecker II 1.3 released

found something really weird!

clicking the text:
"Loading elements..."

has two actions:
most of the time, it runs the installation package and some times opens window in %windir%.

normal?
