WSH 5.6 on Windows 95

Contrary to what was published on Microsoft's website, WSH 5.6 does install on Windows 95 PCs. I installed the 5.6 script engine and ran WSHPipe() without error.

You can get it here: Microsoft Windows Script 5.6

Howard and Chris,

How do you plan to stop/prevent the 1,000+ WSH type viruses that have been responsible for damaging or even crippling many businesses around the world?

Nice script engine, yes, but too many potential damages as well. These AntiVirus engines can't stop all of them. Disabling, or removing WSH has been about the only guaranteed method of preventing them.

I am thinking of removing the file association to prevent an automatic execution.

I need the JScript functionality to improve our auto proxy code and the common up-to-date VBscript engine will permit me to include WSH COM in my KiXtart globally.
