Troubleshooting System.Timer?

Any idea how to troubleshoot System.Timer? I have one piece of code where most of my calls to System.Timer work fine but under a couple of specific scenarios the timer won't start. I'm sure it is something I'm doing wrong but there must be something System.Timer needs that I am not setting up.
