I`ve been messin around wit my 98 machine for awhile. Learning batch files, tryin different ways to bypass pretty much everything and just tweakin it to kindgom come. at school their using kix32 for the student logins and i was wondering if i could use it for my computer at home. Its not networked at all (even to the internet i`m on the families for internet access) i just wanted some increased security cause we all know 98 really didnt have much of it. I was hopin to use batch to do something like it but i cant figure a way to run the batch before 98 opens up or them just close it off. Any help would be appreciated and if you want just send me an email at theunknownsoldiersbatcave@hotmail.com Thanks, The Unknown Soldier

Based on what you wrote I do not think that you need KiXtart.
If you are concerned about security with regards to Windows 98, then upgrade to Windows 2000/XP. Since you're computer seems to be a stand-alone machine anyway, there's not much security to be concerned with.
KiXtart is a scripting language like VBScript or JavaScript. It is used to simplfy certain tasks and used correctly it can improve security indirectly be making it easier to apply certain configurations in an easy way, especially if you manage a significant numebr of computers.
Additionally, KiXtart is used as a login script processor, which is normally used only indomain-based networks with shared resources, roaming users, and other things that require the application of certain things on a per-user or per-computer basis.
You might want to read soem threads and the FAQ to get a feel fo the power of KiXtart in order to determine whether you want to use it. there are a couple of example scripts in the KiXtart download, give them a try.
Additionally, there are some "crazy" people out here that use KiXtart for totally unproductive usages like writing card games (online poker, anyone?) or the famous KiXLander.

Don't know if you've ever "said" quote: Did I ever say that I love this board ?
but you've written it a few times.

Shawn writes it in IM a lot, but I guess not here on the board quite as much.
