a little summary:

• COM/OLE issues not checked, yet.
  
• other topics on the beta forum checked and we only discover
  two minor issues:
  - user can change HKCC keys. it isn't read-only
  - "incorrect function" by SetConsole in console-less mode WKIX32.EXE
  important reminder: significant length of variable names is not be limited.
  
• we see a dramatically decrease of elapse time (factor 2/3 times
  faster regardless the type of functions you are using).
  

We have also some questions:

• which elements may and had influence the increasement of kixtart
  performance?
  
• what kind of elements can decrease performance? f.e. the usage of
  old string format: "Error $program @error: @serror".
  
• what are the improvements to @serror?
  
• what are the related DLLs on our window systems?
  
• will there be additional documentation written about the usage
  of new COM automation?
  
• how is the planning for the coming period?

In new private release KiXtart 2001 RC 1 (build 45) the two minor issues
are still there.
Ruud have update his documentation and has add a new macro @msecs.
So we read a nice part about COM/OLE and a great amount of suggestions
are integrated in his new document. Also the list of sites for more sample
scripts and tips and tricks on KiXtart has been updated.

filesize changes between build 43 and build 45:
kix32.exe changed 188k -> 188k
wkix32.exe changed 188k -> 192k

if there is dramatic improvements, there is dramatic change too.
it looks like console-version has no change at all -> ruud has done a lot of code optimation for wingdose in b045?

Is this 4.02 final release (build 71) a Public Release? or still beta?

I only see 4.01 (build 63) available here on the http://kixtart.org/downloads.html link.

If it is Public Release, where can I download it?

Indeed this final build is a public release.
On our site we only put them after consent of Ruud.
Only in some cases we send a private version to other persons for testing.
