Does anybody know because the error below happens?
>>> KiXtart 2001 <<< ERROR: A cryptographic service handle could not be acquired Error: (0x80090016/-2146893802)!
The KiXtart version that I am using: 4.51 Build 207 (most recent)
this just happens in the following way: Tokenized script + Windows 95
The function CryptAcquireContext is in advapi32.dll that is in the version 4.71.0118.0 in this Windows 95.

I understand and I agree that windows 95 should not be a priority. but me, in particular, will have some problems, because I still have many computers Windows 95, and my scripts has passwords in the code. therefore I need to use the tokenized scripts. I also know that it is my problem, and you don't have anything with that. but for kindness, if you could help me, I will be very thankful. I love kixtart and I struggled in my department for you use him/it. please. help me.

Well, in the post Les made in the Beta forum about the 4.51 release:
Quote:
KiXtart 2010 4.51 is a minor update with the following fixes & enhancements:
GetFileSize has been enhanced so it can operate on open files. GetFileTime has been enhanced so it can operate on open files. Additionally,GetFileTime now supports a 2nd parameter enabling selection of the time to be returned. Tokenized files can now be protected with a password. To use this option simply specify a password for the file to be protected on the commandline using the '/u' option. Fixed handling of multiple INCLUDE's of the same INCLUDE file. Adjusted scope of variables in INCLUDE files to that of the INCLUDing script. Fixed handling of empty Delimiter parameter by Join & Split. Added a 5th parameter to AScan enabling selection of the type of match. Fixed handling of the '~' operator. Removed '2001' text from exception messages. Changed 'LongHorn' text to 'Vista'. Added support for new Windows Versions (Starter Edition, Server R2, etc). Fixed encryption/decryption of tokenized files on Windows 95. Removed error event that was erroneously generated by @ONWOW64. Corrected the way duplicate UDF's are handled: KiXtart now reports an error if it encounters a duplicate UDF
So if you really have to have tokenised scripts for Win9x the answer is to upgrade to 4.51 and give it a try.

Hmmm. Good point.
Raphael, check that you are using the latest build of KiXtart both on the machine that you are creating the tokenised file on, and on the machine that you are running it on.
Also, try tokenising it on the Win9x machine and running that version.

thanks Les, thanks Richard.
the error also appears in the following conditions:
from the computer Windows 95 create test.kix (just ? "simple test") run wkix32 or kix32 test.kix /t (4.51 Build 207) run wkix32 test.kx -> the error happens. run kix32 test.kx -> the error does not happen.

the error: >>> KiXtart 2001 <<< ERROR: A cryptographic service handle could not be acquired Error: (0x80090016/-2146893802)!
other fix not applied: "Removed '2001' text from exception messages."

it doesn't exist other interpreters in the path, and I always call the executable of the kixtart making reference to the complete path.
